It uses a carbon dioxide lasing medium to target water, which is present in abundance in the skin. In most treatments, the laser is used with a “fractionated” setting. This means that the laser will create a series of very small wounds in the skin. As these wounds heal, new collagen is created, and the healed skin is renewed and rejuvenated. Fractionated treatments allow for significant gains in improvement in the skin while still minimizing downtime and healing time.
