Tomey OA 2000 Optical Biometrics
Tomey oa-2000 Technology provides tissue penetration capable of measuring through virtually all dense cataracts.
Tomey oa-2000 Optical Biometer provides non-contact, noninvasive, automated measurement of axial length (AL), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness, and central corneal thickness (CCT) based on Fourier-domain technology plus Placido-disc–established corneal topography, based company literature.1,2 It provides improved usability, connects remotely to an ultrasound biometric unit for hard-to-read eyes, provides one-shot IOL power calculation, and supplies an internal database for storage.
The Tomey oa-2000 incorporates topography, axial length, lens thickness and pachymetry which yield ideal data set for ray tracing. This assures results even in Toric IOL calculation or eye conditions.
The Tomey oa-2000 also includes Placido-disc corneal topography to measure the radius of corneal curvature and explain corneal shape. The topographer steps not just the conventional 3-mm diameter optical zone but also simultaneously at 2.5 and 2 mm. Additionally, it creates a topography map to help ascertain the existence of irregular astigmatism and allow comparison of pre- and postoperative corneal form. In the case of toric IOL implantation, the maps may also identify the axis at which the IOL is to be oriented
