elos TECHONOLOGY
Elos technology is a unique combination of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and RF (Radio Frequency) that uses gentle pulses of two targeted energies to penetrate deeper below the skin dermis than laser and IPL, more effectively targeting the hair follicle.
A pulse of elōs (RF + IPL) is emitted for a fraction of a second. The IPL energy is converted to thermal energy, heating up the hair shaft and the hair follicle. The RF energy is attracted to the pre-heated follicle, heating it further and treating it, permanently disabling the follicle and preventing hair re-growth.
1 |The epidermis is cooled by the cold applicator tip, which increases skin impedance, further protecting the epidermis and forcing RF energy to penetrate deeper into the preheated, low-impedance target tissue.
2 |Optical energy (laser or pulsed light) is selectively absorbed by the target tissue and converted into thermal energy, which preheats the target tissue.
3 |The RF current, flowing between the electrodes, has a greater preference over preheated targets that have lower impedance (less resistance), resulting in a greater thermal impact on the target tissue.
